Job Title: Radiologic Technologist
Job Summary:
A Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. They work closely with patients to explain procedures, prepare them for imaging, and ensure that high-quality images are produced for accurate diagnosis.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process and ensuring their comfort and safety.
2. Operate imaging equipment such as X-ray machines, CT scanners, and MRIs to produce high-quality images.
3. Position patients properly to obtain the best image quality and minimize radiation exposure.
4. Collaborate with physicians to provide images for diagnostic interpretation.
5. Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance.
6. Follow safety protocols to protect both patients and staff from radiation exposure.
7. Keep detailed records of procedures performed and patient information.
8. Stay current on technological advancements and best practices in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
2. Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
3. State licensure or certification as required.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
6. Physical stamina and strength to position patients and operate equipment.
7. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
8. Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
