Job title: MRI Technologist
Job Summary:
A MRI Technologist is responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines to produce diagnostic images of patients' internal organs and tissues. They work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality images are produced for medical diagnosis.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare patients for MRI scans by explaining procedures and positioning them correctly.
2. Operate MRI machines to capture images of patients' bodies.
3. Ensure patient safety during the scanning process.
4. Monitor and adjust settings on the MRI machine as needed.
5. Collaborate with radiologists to review and interpret images.
6. Maintain and calibrate MRI equipment to ensure accuracy.
7. Keep detailed records of patient examinations.
8. Follow all safety protocols and regulations related to MRI imaging.
9. Provide patient support and reassurance throughout the scanning process.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Completion of an accredited MRI technologist program.
2. Certification in MRI technology.
3. Strong knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
7. Problem-solving skills.
8. Physical stamina and dexterity to assist patients with positioning.
9. Knowledge of MRI safety protocols and procedures.
