Job Title: Echo Technologist
Job Summary:
The Echo Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to produce high quality images of the heart chambers, valves, and blood flow in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms according to established protocols.
2. Operate ultrasound equipment to obtain optimal images.
3. Analyze images and prepare preliminary reports for review by interpreting physician.
4. Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure accurate patient care.
5. Maintain equipment and supplies and follow safety protocols.
6. Attend continuing education courses to stay current with advancements in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Cardiovascular Technology or related field.
2. Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) preferred.
3. 1-2 years of experience in performing echocardiograms.
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
