Job Summary:
The Radiology Radiologic Technologist plays a critical role in the healthcare field by performing diagnostic imaging examinations and assisting radiologists in interpreting results. They work with various imaging technologies such as X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, and more to help diagnose and treat patients.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare patients for imaging procedures and explain the process to them
- Position patients correctly for imaging and operate equipment to obtain the best images
- Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and themselves
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all images are of high quality for diagnostic purposes
- Collaborate with radiologists to review and interpret imaging results
- Keep abreast of new technologies and industry trends in radiology
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in radiologic technology or a related field
- Certified and registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure to practice as a radiologic technologist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures
