Job Title: Radiology CT Scan Technologist
Job Summary: The Radiology CT Scan Technologist performs diagnostic imaging procedures using computerized tomography (CT) scanners to create detailed images of internal organs, bones, and tissues for medical diagnosis. They are responsible for operating the CT scanner, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring that images produced are of high quality and accurately depict the area of interest.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Operate CT scanner to perform imaging procedures as prescribed by physicians
- Prepare patients for CT scans by explaining procedures, positioning patients correctly, and ensuring their comfort
- Monitor patients during scans and assess image quality to ensure accurate results
- Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting issues
- Maintain patient records and ensure patient confidentiality
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and determine diagnoses
- Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection measures to minimize risks to patients and staff
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field
- Certification in CT imaging technology
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
