Job Description

Job Title: Radiology: Nuc Med Tech

Job Summary:

The Radiology: Nuc Med Tech is responsible for operating imaging equipment to provide accurate and high-quality diagnostic images for physicians to analyze. They work closely with patients to explain procedures, prepare them for imaging exams, and ensure their safety throughout the process.

Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to department protocols.

2. Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients as directed.

3. Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners.

4. Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety.

5. Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality of patient information.

6. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to analyze and interpret imaging results.

7. Ensure compliance with radiation safety regulations and protocols.

8. Participate in continuing education to stay current with advancements in nuclear medicine technology.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Associate's degree or higher in nuclear medicine technology or a related field.

2. Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).

3. State licensure as a nuclear medicine technologist.

4. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in imaging procedures.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

6. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
