Job Title: CT Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and highly qualified CT Technologist to join our medical imaging team. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for operating computerized tomography (CT) scanners to capture detailed images of patients' internal organs, bones, and tissues. Your expertise in operating and maintaining CT equipment will play a vital role in diagnosing and treating various medical conditions. A strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient care are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform CT examinations following established protocols and procedures to acquire accurate images.
- Position patients and instruct them on appropriate breathing techniques to ensure optimal image quality and patient comfort.
- Operate and maintain CT scanners, ensuring they are in good working condition and adhering to all safety protocols.
- Review patient medical history and evaluate the necessity of CT scans for accurate diagnosis.
- Administer contrast agents to patients under the direction and supervision of a physician.
- Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to analyze images and provide preliminary findings.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update the picture archiving and communication system (PACS) with relevant information.
- Ensure patient safety and privacy by following strict HIPAA guidelines.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in CT technology and techniques through continuing education and professional development.
- Assist with training and supervising new CT Technologists, if required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A valid and active CT Technologist certification from an accredited institution.
- Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures, protocols, and equipment.
- Proficiency in understanding and interpreting CT images.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in patient positioning and image acquisition.
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols and adherence to all regulations.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
