Job Title: Radiologic Technologist (X-Ray Tech/Radiology Tech)
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiologic Technologist to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a Radiologic Technologist, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs. Your primary goal will be to ensure accurate imaging results that aid in patient diagnosis and treatment. You will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care while adhering to safety protocols and maintaining equipment functionality.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, such as X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs, according to established protocols and physician orders.
2. Position patients appropriately and ensure that they are comfortable before starting imaging procedures.
3. Follow safety protocols to protect patients, staff, and yourself from unnecessary radiation exposure.
4. Operate and maintain imaging equipment to ensure accurate and high-quality images.
5. Evaluate and analyze images for quality, ensuring that they meet diagnostic requirements.
6. Provide patient education regarding imaging procedures, including explaining the process and addressing any concerns or questions.
7. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including radiologists and other physicians, to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment planning.
8. Maintain accurate and thorough patient records, including patient history, examination results, and related documentation.
9. Adhere to ethical, professional, and legal standards within the radiology field.
10. Stay up-to-date with industry advancements and new technologies in radiology to improve patient care and enhance the effectiveness of imaging procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor's degree preferred.
2. Certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
3. Valid state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
4. Proficient in operating various imaging equipment, including X-ray machines, computed tomography (CT) scanners, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners.
5. Knowledge of radiology safety protocols, including radiation protection and patient positioning techniques.
6. Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
7. Good communication and interpersonal skills to educate and comfort patients during imaging procedures.
8. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
9. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
10. Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to changing technology and practices in radiology.
