Job Summary:
The Echo Technologist performs echocardiograms to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions. They operate ultrasound equipment to capture images of the heart and blood vessels, analyze the results, and provide accurate reports to the healthcare team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare patients for echocardiograms by explaining the procedure and ensuring their comfort.
2. Operate ultrasound equipment to capture clear images of the heart and blood vessels.
3. Analyze the images and provide accurate reports to physicians for diagnosis.
4. Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of medical information.
5. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care.
6. Stay up-to-date on new technologies and advancements in echocardiography.
7. Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
8. Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Completion of an accredited echocardiography program.
3. ARDMS certification.
4. Strong attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
7. Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
8. Proficient in using ultrasound equipment.
