Job Title: Interventional Radiology Technologist (IR Tech)
Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology Technologist plays a vital role in assisting physicians during diagnostic and interventional procedures using imaging technologies such as fluoroscopy and ultrasound. They are responsible for ensuring patient safety, positioning patients for procedures, operating imaging equipment, and providing support to the medical team.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assist physicians in performing a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Position patients for imaging procedures and ensure proper patient safety measures are followed
- Operate imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy, ultrasound, and CT scanners
- Monitor patients during procedures and report any adverse reactions or changes in condition
- Maintain a clean and sterile environment in the interventional radiology suite
- Collaborate with the medical team to ensure accurate patient documentation and imaging results
- Provide patient education and support before, during, and after procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Certification in Radiography (ARRT) and/or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI) highly preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Radiologic Technologist, preferably in interventional radiology
- Knowledge of imaging equipment and procedures used in interventional radiology
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
