Job Title: Cath Lab Technologist
Job Summary: The Cath Lab Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians during catheterization procedures in order to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions. They operate imaging equipment, monitor patient vitals, and ensure the safety and comfort of patients throughout procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and set up catheterization equipment for procedures
2. Assist physicians during catheterization procedures
3. Operate imaging equipment to capture images of the heart and blood vessels
4. Monitor patient vital signs and response to procedures
5. Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout procedures
6. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
7. Assist with the care and maintenance of cath lab equipment
8. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide optimal patient care
9. Follow all hospital policies and procedures related to cath lab operations
10. Participate in continuing education and training to stay current on best practices in cath lab technology
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in cardiovascular technology or related field
2. Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Radiologic Technologist (RT)
3. Previous experience working in a cath lab setting preferred
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to work effectively under pressure
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6. Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with healthcare professionals
7. Knowledge of cath lab procedures and equipment
8. Basic life support (BLS) certification required
9. Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends
10. Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
