Job title: Cath Lab Technologist - Fluoroscopy
Job Summary:
The Cath Lab Technologist specializing in Fluoroscopy is responsible for operating fluoroscopic equipment during interventional cardiac procedures in the cardiac catheterization laboratory. This role involves assisting physicians and healthcare staff in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of fluoroscopy equipment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
-Operate and monitor fluoroscopic equipment during cardiac catheterization procedures
-Assist physicians and healthcare staff in positioning patients for procedures
-Maintain sterile fields and ensure proper infection control measures are followed
-Handle and manage contrast media used during procedures
-Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and respond to any changes or emergencies
-Document and maintain accurate records of procedures performed
-Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of fluoroscopy equipment
-Provide patient education and support before, during, and after procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
-Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Technology program
-Certification as a Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)
-Experience in operating fluoroscopic equipment in a catheterization laboratory setting
-Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and catheterization procedures
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment
-Attention to detail and ability to multitask
