Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions using radioactive materials. They work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to produce high-quality images that help in the detection of diseases and disorders.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients for imaging procedures
- Operate imaging equipment, such as gamma cameras and PET scanners, to capture images of internal organs and tissues
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure their safety and comfort
- Analyze images and provide detailed reports to physicians for interpretation
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible patient care
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
- Certification from the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Strong knowledge of radiopharmaceuticals and imaging techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Current BLS certification
