Job Title: Echo Technologist - Ultrasound Technologist
Job Summary:
The Echo Technologist - Ultrasound Technologist performs diagnostic ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for various organs and tissues within the body. They operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the internal structures of the body to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform ultrasound exams on patients, ensuring the accuracy and quality of images produced.
- Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process to them.
- Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper functioning and safety.
- Evaluate images for technical quality and communicate findings to physicians.
- Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of documentation.
- Follow protocols and procedures for imaging studies.
- Assist physicians during procedures as needed.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound principles and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in image acquisition.
