Job Title: Diagnostic Echocardiography Technologist (Echo Technologist)
Job Summary:
As a Diagnostic Echocardiography Technologist, you will be responsible for performing echocardiograms and assisting physicians in diagnosing and treating heart conditions. You will use specialized equipment to produce high-quality images of the heart and provide accurate and timely results for patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform echocardiograms on patients as requested by physicians
- Operate and maintain echocardiography equipment
- Assist physicians in interpreting images and obtaining diagnostic information
- Follow proper protocols and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results
- Maintain patient records and ensure patient confidentiality
- Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Stay current on advancements in echocardiography technology and techniques
- Provide excellent patient care and support throughout the imaging process
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
- Previous experience in echocardiography or related field preferred
- Strong technical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and cardiovascular diseases
- Proficiency in using echocardiography equipment and software
