Job Title: CT Technologist
Job Summary:
The CT Technologist is responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) machines to produce cross-sectional images of patients' internal organs and tissues. The images produced are used by physicians to diagnose and treat medical conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and position patients for CT scans
- Operate CT equipment to capture images as requested by physicians
- Ensure proper functioning of CT machines and report any malfunctions
- Monitor patients during CT scans to ensure their safety and comfort
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of information
- Provide assistance to radiologists in interpreting images and making diagnoses
- Follow protocols to ensure quality images are produced for accurate diagnosis
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree or certification in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT certification in CT
- State licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in CT imaging preferred
