Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Job Summary:
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This individual will operate ultrasound equipment, prepare patients for procedures, and provide support to patients throughout the imaging process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform diagnostic ultrasound procedures according to established protocols
2. Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process and positioning patients for optimal imaging
3. Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images
4. Assist physicians in interpreting images and providing accurate patient results
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
6. Monitor equipment for proper functioning and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
7. Uphold all safety and infection control protocols during procedures
8. Maintain a clean and organized work environment
9. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care
10. Stay current on new technology and advancements in the field of ultrasound imaging
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
- ARDMS certification or eligibility to take the exam
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
