Job Title: Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist
Job Summary:
The Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist is responsible for operating imaging equipment to assist physicians in performing minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat various medical conditions. They work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the success of these procedures.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and position patients for IR procedures
2. Operate imaging equipment, such as fluoroscopy and ultrasound, to assist physicians during procedures
3. Monitor patients during procedures to ensure their safety and comfort
4. Assist physicians in performing IR procedures, such as angiograms and biopsies
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
6. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
7. Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize risks for patients and staff
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
2. ARRT certification in Radiography
3. Minimum of 2 years of experience in interventional radiology
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
6. Knowledge of radiation safety procedures and protocols
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
