Job Title: Cytotechnologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a qualified Cytotechnologist to join our team. The Cytotechnologist will be responsible for examining and analyzing human cell samples for abnormalities and diseases, primarily in the field of cancer diagnosis. They will work closely with pathologists to provide accurate and timely results to aid in patient treatment plans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare and stain cell samples for microscopic analysis.
2. Perform microscopic examination of cell samples to detect abnormalities.
3. Identify and classify abnormal cells, including cancerous cells.
4. Produce accurate and timely reports of findings for pathologists.
5. Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new testing procedures.
6. Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies.
7. Adhere to all safety and quality control protocols.
8. Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Bachelor's degree in cytotechnology or related field.
2. ASCP certification as a Cytotechnologist.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Proficiency in microscopy and cell biology techniques.
7. Knowledge of laboratory safety procedures.
8. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
