Job Title: Sonographer
Job Summary:
A Sonographer is responsible for conducting diagnostic ultrasound examinations to produce images for interpretation by physicians. They play a critical role in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by using ultrasound equipment to capture images of the body's organs and tissues.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform and interpret diagnostic ultrasound procedures
2. Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process
3. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
4. Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
5. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
6. Stay current on new technologies and best practices in the field
7. Adhere to all safety and quality standards
8. Communicate effectively with patients and medical staff
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
2. ARDMS certification
3. State licensure as required
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently
6. Knowledge of anatomy and physiology
7. Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment
8. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
