Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will be responsible for operating imaging equipment to visualize and assess the function of organs and tissues within the body using radioactive pharmaceuticals. You will work closely with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic images and contribute to patient care.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients for imaging procedures
- Operate imaging equipment to capture images of organs and tissues
- Monitor patients during imaging procedures to ensure safety and accuracy
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to analyze images and assist with diagnosis
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Educate patients on imaging procedures and answer any questions they may have
- Stay up to date on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field
- Certification in nuclear medicine technology from a recognized accrediting body
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work well in a team
- Knowledge of radiation safety and procedures
- Ability to work with patients of all ages and backgrounds
- Strong computer skills and proficiency in imaging software
