Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and administering radioactive drugs for diagnostic procedures, operating imaging equipment to capture images of organs and tissues, and providing quality patient care while ensuring safety standards are met.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs for imaging procedures
- Operate imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET scanners
- Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain high-quality images
- Monitor patients during procedures to ensure safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate patient records and follow safety protocols
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and provide diagnostic information
- Educate patients about procedures and answer any questions they may have
- Keep current with developments in nuclear medicine technology and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology
- Current state license to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
- Strong understanding of radiation safety and regulations
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
