Job Summary:
Ultrasound Technologists are responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the human body for diagnostic purposes. They work closely with patients to explain procedures, prepare them for imaging, and provide support during the scanning process.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform ultrasound procedures according to established protocols.
2. Obtain and record patient history and pertinent clinical information.
3. Position patients for optimal imaging results and ensure their comfort and safety.
4. Evaluate images for quality and communicate findings to healthcare providers.
5. Maintain equipment and ensure proper functioning.
6. Document procedures and maintain patient records.
7. Adhere to safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
8. Stay current on new technology and advancements in the field.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in ultrasound technology or related field.
2. ARDMS certification or eligibility.
3. State licensure as required.
4. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
5. Attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
6. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
