Job title: Special Procedures Technologist
Job Summary:
The Special Procedures Technologist is responsible for assisting physicians in performing specialized medical procedures using imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy, CT scans, or MRI. They must ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the procedures while producing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Prepare patients for specialized procedures and explain the process to them.
2. Operate imaging equipment to capture high-quality images during procedures.
3. Assist physicians in performing specialized medical procedures, such as angiograms, biopsies, or cardiac catheterizations.
4. Monitor patients' vital signs during procedures and respond to any concerns or emergencies.
5. Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of equipment to uphold safety standards.
6. Collaborate with healthcare team members to provide effective patient care.
7. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field.
- ARRT certification and state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Special Procedures or Interventional Radiology.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols.
