Job Title: MRI Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated MRI Technologist to join our reputable medical facility. As an MRI Technologist, you will be responsible for operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanners and providing high-quality imaging services to patients. You will ensure that the imaging procedures are conducted accurately, maintain patient confidentiality, and uphold all safety measures. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform MRI scans according to physician orders and established protocols
- Prepare patients for the MRI procedure by explaining the process, answering their questions, and ensuring their comfort
- Operate MRI scanners and associated equipment to capture diagnostic images
- Position patients correctly to obtain accurate images and adjust equipment settings as necessary
- Monitor patients during the scan to ensure their safety and comfort
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret and discuss imaging results
- Maintain detailed patient records and document all procedures performed
- Educate patients on the MRI process and address any concerns or anxiety they may have
- Ensure proper functioning of MRI equipment by conducting routine checks and reporting any malfunctions
- Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection measures to minimize risks
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Continuously update knowledge and skills through professional development activities and staying informed about new advancements in the field
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field (Bachelor's degree preferred)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in MRI
- State licensure or certification as required
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an MRI Technologist
- Proficient in operating MRI scanners and associated software
- Strong knowledge of imaging protocols and procedures
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Detail-oriented and able to follow instructions with precision
- Ability to handle stressful situations and work well under pressure
