Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and organized Ultrasound Technologist to join our team in Bethel, AK. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic medical examinations using high-frequency sound waves to create visual images of internal body structures. The ideal candidate will have experience using ultrasound equipment, and a thorough understanding of anatomy and physiology. The Ultrasound Technologist must also have excellent communication skills and be able to work in a team environment.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including obstetrical, abdominal, cardiac, and vascular studies.
- Ensuring that patients are comfortable and informed about the procedure.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of each examination.
- Communicating with healthcare professionals and physicians about examination results.
- Maintaining and cleaning ultrasound equipment and ensuring its proper operation.
- Providing patient care and support during examinations.
- Maintaining a professional and knowledgeable approach in dealing with patients and physicians.
Qualifications and Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or higher in diagnostic medical sonography
- Certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Experience in performing ultrasound examinations
- In-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
