Job Title: Ultrasound Technician
Job Summary:
An Ultrasound Technician, also known as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, is responsible for operating ultrasound equipment to produce and interpret images of various body parts or tissues to assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Perform ultrasound scans on patients as ordered by physicians
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures
- Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust settings to obtain the best images
- Evaluate images for quality and ensure proper documentation of findings
- Assist physicians in interpreting imaging results and making diagnoses
- Maintain and clean ultrasound equipment for optimal performance
- Keep accurate records of patient procedures and imaging results
Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of an accredited ultrasound technology program
- ARDMS certification in ultrasound technology
- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
