Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer
Job Summary:
The Cardiac Sonographer is responsible for performing echocardiograms and other cardiovascular tests to help physicians diagnose and treat heart conditions. They work closely with patients to obtain high-quality imaging and assist in interpreting the results for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform echocardiograms using ultrasound equipment
2. Prepare patients for procedures and explain the process in a clear and compassionate manner
3. Assist physicians in interpreting test results and making treatment recommendations
4. Maintain accurate patient records and reports
5. Ensure equipment is properly maintained and calibrated for optimal performance
6. Stay current on advancements in cardiac imaging technology and techniques
7. Adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines for patient safety and data privacy
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's or bachelor's degree in cardiovascular technology or a related field
2. Certification as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or equivalent
3. 1-2 years of experience working as a cardiac sonographer in a healthcare setting
4. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
5. Attention to detail and ability to work independently
6. Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
7. Ability to operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment effectively
