Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technician
Job Summary:
The Nuclear Medicine Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures to help physicians diagnose and treat various medical conditions. They operate imaging equipment, prepare and administer radioactive drugs, and monitor patients during scans.
Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Perform imaging procedures such as bone scans, PET scans, and SPECT scans.
2. Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients.
3. Monitor patients during imaging procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort.
4. Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure accurate results.
5. Record and document imaging procedures and results for physicians to review.
6. Follow safety protocols and radiation protection measures at all times.
7. Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnoses.
8. Educate patients about the imaging procedures and answer any questions they may have.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Associate's degree in nuclear medicine technology or a related field.
2. Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification.
3. Valid state licensure to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technician.
4. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
