Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technician - Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and highly-trained Nuclear Medicine Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating imaging equipment to diagnose and treat diseases using radioactive materials. You will work closely with physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate and detailed images for patient evaluations.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Prepare and administer radioactive drugs to patients as directed by physicians
- Operate imaging equipment to capture images of organs, tissues, and bones
- Analyze images to determine if additional scans are necessary
- Consult with physicians to discuss findings and assist in developing treatment plans
- Maintain and calibrate imaging equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Keep detailed records of patient procedures and results
- Follow safety protocols to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
- Stay current on advancements in nuclear medicine technology and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
- Certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology preferred
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a Nuclear Medicine Technician
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Knowledge of radiation safety protocols
